Thomas's daughter, born in California, and the first person on either side of this family to finish college. She taught fourth grade in Grass Valley for thirty one years and moved down to Sacramento in retirement to be near her daughter. She came to St Just once, in 1987, aged fifty eight, and stood in the churchyard for an hour.
